Mrs. Casey Faulkner
Mrs. Casey Faulkner is currently the Program Coordinator and a Senior Instructor of Interior Design for The Department of Clothing, Textiles, and Interior Design and has taught at The University of Alabama for over 18 years. She developed an interim travel course and started taking students to NYC in 2008. She also co-developed and taught Study Abroad classes in Italy (the first for the College of HES) starting in 2011. She is the faculty advisor for the Interior Design student organization IDSA which includes membership in ASID or IIDA.
Prior to becoming a full time instructor, Mrs. Faulkner's professional practice experience includes design work for commercial for two interior design firms in Sacramento, CA. She was also Director of Design and Development for companies in Dallas, TX and Montgomery, AL creating textile products for the home. She also designed textiles for outdoor use, flooring, and window shades for a company in Tuscaloosa, AL.
Mrs. Faulkner received the ASID Outstanding Educator Award from the Alabama State Chapter in 2021 and 2022.

Mrs. Faulkner received the ASID Outstanding Educator Award from the Alabama State Chapter in 2021 and 2022.
In her spare time, Mrs. Faulkner has designed a 5600 sf exhibition space, meeting space, event space and collaborated on rebranding and development of a new logo for a global conference in Indianapolis in 2017 and 2023. She also designs and makes jewelry, artwork and handmade journals. She is a member of the Central Alabama Artist Guild and the Alabama Mineral and Lapidary Society. She became a lapidarist, learning how to cut gemstones into cabochons and a silversmith creating the sterling silver settings. She creates ink drawings, paints watercolor and acrylic paintings, and makes handmade journals as a backdrop for her jewelry designs. She won Best of Show at the juried Patton Creek Art Festival in 2021.
